Pound US dollar exchange rate: GBP punches higher as UK wage growth reaches nine-year high

THE pound US dollar exchange rate is up around 0.3 per cent from the morning opening level, helping to bump the pairing back above $ 1.32. The pound is accelerating against the US dollar and many of its other currency peers today as markets welcome the news that UK wage growth is finally beginning to pick up again.
